Frequently Asked Questions

How do we filter releases by genre?

We make a strong effort to filter releases by genre as we respect the various sub genres in LOUD music. This is a heavy task indeed. We rely primarily on the information provided by the record labels and distributors. In most cases, the only description we receive is “Metal”, “Rock”, “Punk”. Therefore, the sub genres are lost at that level. IF YOU NOTICE A RELEASE IN THE WRONG GENRE, Write To Us, AND WE WILL MAKE THE CHANGE!

Why are there sub genres missing?

We are aware that there are several sub genres missing from the list. Depending on the number of releases we receive from each genre, we create a separate sub genre section. The more releases we receive in each sub genre, the more sub genres we will have available.

Why are certain releases not available in my territory?

In many cases, the releases available on the site are available Worldwide. However, due to contract obligations by various artists and record labels, some releases are controlled by different record labels for different territories. By way of example, Record Company X may have rights for a release for the US and Canada territory, but Record Company YZ will have rights to the same release for Europe. We are constantly making efforts to ensure we have as many releases available in as many territories as possible.

There are some LOUD music artists that are not available on the site.

With so many artists and releases around the world, it is on going task to sign deals with as many content providers as possible. We add music to the site on a weekly basis, so if you do not find a specific artist, or release, please search again as it may have been added. You can always send us a request and we will do our best to make your request available.

There are no releases from the Major Record labels.

While we appreciate the releases and artists of the Major Record labels, we felt the initial goal was to make available as many indie and unsigned artists as possible. Many indie labels and unsigned artists do not have many outlets where they can promote and sell their music. Our goal is to encourage them as much as possible and create an environment where they can reach out to the fans. Having said that, we currently have the Warner Music Group catalog, and are working on offering Major Record releases in the future.

What is the currency?

For the moment, the currency used is US Dollars.

How long do I have to download my purchases?

You are given a 12 hour period to download your purchases.

What file format are the music files?

Generally, we request from all our content providers supply us with MP3 320kbps files. We believe this is the best option when considering quality vs. memory space. However, there are cases in which some content providers send us lower quality MP3 files.

Why do some artists appear in more than 1 genre?

In some cases, an artist may have one album in one genre (ie METAL), and another album in another genre (ie PUNK). The genres are filtered by release, and not artist.

Why is there no Speed Metal section?

We recognize this genre but have merged Speed Metal releases with Thrash Metal. Many of the Speed Metal artists on our site have listed “Thrash or Metal” as their genre, so we respected this. Most Speed Metal releases can be found in Thrash Metal, or heavy Metal.
